Following the acquisition of 87% of the issued shares, Ayima was an investment of WPTG with a board comprising of the old management and ownership of Ayima, none of whom were related to WPTG. This board independently declared bankruptcy in June 2024 without consulting WPTG, its management or shareholders. The old management unilaterally did this when WPTG tried to understand the reasons for losses and implement a turnaround strategy. WPTG was not allowed by Ayima's management and board to effect a turnaround or provide input into the declared bankruptcy. WPTG were then surprised in July 2024 to see the self-same management bid to repurchase the assets into a UK entity.
